IL State Treasurer announces internship program

Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford has announced his office will begin an internship program on April 1 to expose students to the daily operations of the Treasurer’s Office.  Interns will have the opportunity to work in a specialized area that reflects their academic study with responsibilities ranging from basic administrative functions to specific department projects.  Applications are currently being accepted.  Please click here for the application.

 Also, the office will be offering part-time contractual employment opportunities in the Unclaimed Property Division.  Positions will be seasonal and of indeterminate length.  

 Potential candidates must have a background or interest in public policy, marketing, communications, public relations, or any other applicable field associated with the State Treasurer’s Office.  Applicants must also possess a strong work ethic and have the ability and initiative to complete tasks independently.  Please send the application, along with a resume and cover letter to:

Candidates will be subject to an interview process with a human resources representative and intern program coordinator in either Chicago or Springfield.  Final determinations will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and interviewer recommendation.
