Rezin: Reforms are the ticket to the future of Illinois

State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) issued the following reaction in response to Gov. Bruce Rauner’s State of the State Address Jan. 31.

“Reforms are the ticket to the future of Illinois. Tax increases and unbalanced budgets – the norm of the past ten years and more – has been a recipe for continued economic stagnation, people saying ‘enough is enough,’ and then moving out of Illinois.

“The only way to improve the state of our state is through reforms that will grow our economy, create jobs, and help working families. This includes property tax relief, term limits, and lowering the burden and red tape for job creators.

“Our state can be great, but fundamental change has to occur and it has to be something both parties participate in. We’ve done it before on major issues like education funding reform, so I know we can do it again. Working together is how we turn things around.”
