According to a notice from the Illinois Department of Human Services, benefits will soon decrease for all SNAP households. From the notice:
Please be advised, on November 1, 2013, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will decrease for all SNAP households due to the expiration of the extra benefits provided by a federal law called the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). For example, the benefit cut to monthly benefits for a family of three will be $29, and a family of four will see a reduction in benefits of $36. If constituents have questions, they can call the Department of Human Services Helpline at 1-800-843-6154.
