Purpose: To increase knowledge and appreciation of subjects, ideas, and places significant to American history and culture through humanities reading and site study; build communities of inquiry and provide models of civility and of excellent scholarship and teaching; provide teachers with expertise in the use and interpretation of historical sites and of material and archival resources; and foster interaction between K-12 educators and scholarly experts.

National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research: Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program: Field Initiated Projects Program (CFDA No. 84.133G-2) (Development)
Purpose: To develop methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology that maximizes the full inclusion and integration into society, employment, independent living, family support, and economic and social self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities.
Eligibility: State, county, city, township, and special district governments; independent school districts; private, public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities; Native American tribal organizations; nonprofits; for-profit organizations other than small businesses; and small businesses.
Funding: $2 million

Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE): High School Equivalency Program (HEP) (CFDA No. 84.141A)
Purpose:
To help migrant and seasonal farm workers and members of their immediate family obtain a general school equivalency established by the state in which the HEP project is conducted; and gain employment or be placed in an institution of higher education (IHE) or other postsecondary education or training.
Eligibility: IHEs or private nonprofit organizations (including faith-based organizations) that plan their projects in cooperation with an IHE and propose to operate some aspects of the project with the facilities of the IHE.

Statewide Family Network Programs (CFDA No. 93.243)
Purpose:
To establish a child and family focus in programs, serving children and adolescents with mental health challenges around the country; ensure self-sufficient, empowered networks that will effectively participate in state and local mental health services planning and health care reform activities related to improving community-based services for children and adolescents with mental health challenges and their families. 
Eligibility: Family-controlled domestic public and private nonprofit organizations.

Summer Seminars and Institutes (CFDA No. 45.163)
Purpose:
To support faculty development programs in the humanities for school teachers and for college and university teachers; extend and deepen knowledge and understanding of the humanities by focusing on significant topics and texts; contribute to the intellectual vitality and professional development of participants; build communities of inquiry and provide models of civility and excellent scholarship and teaching; and link teaching and research in the humanities.
Eligibility: State, county, city, township, and special district governments; private, public, and state controlled institutions of higher education; Native American tribal organizations; and nonprofits.
