Sen. Rezin Featured as Panelist for “Women in Power”

<p><strong>SPRINGFIELD&ndash;</strong> State Senator Sue Rezin (R-Peru), served as featured panelist as part of the &ldquo;Women in Power&rdquo; program of the IEEE Power and Energy Society. Topics included the state-wide adoption of smart grid technology and the current rulemaking process for fracking.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The power industry is the heart of our area, providing countless direct and indirect jobs, as well as generating the tax revenues to fund local programs,&rdquo; said Senator Rezin. &ldquo;It is incredibly important for the entire state that we ensure reliable, technologically advanced energy infrastructure to power our future and provide jobs for the next generation.&rdquo;</p>
<p>The &ldquo;Women in Power&rdquo; program seeks to encourage career advancement for female professionals in the energy sector. Senator Rezin took part in panel on &ldquo;Inclusion and Diversity in the Energy Industry&rdquo; held at the Chicago campus of IIT. </p>
<p>&ldquo;Ensuring a diverse workforce for every industry means providing opportunities for people of all genders, races, and national origins,&rdquo; said Senator Rezin. &ldquo;This allows our entire population to take part at all levels of the workforce, bringing a wide variety of ideas and innovations to our business community.”</p>
