Senator Rezin to Host Flood Fighting School

On behalf of Senator Sue Rezin and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in collaboration with IDNR, LaSalle County Emergency Management, Hesco & the City of Ottawa, we will be hosting a Flood Fighting School on November 12, 2014.

The event will take place at the LaSalle County Emergency Management Center located at 711 E. Etna Road, Ottawa, Illinois.  This is approximately ½ mile East of Columbus St. (Rte 23) on Etna Rd., just South of I-80.

Senator Rezin has organized a Regional Flood Coalition which will conduct its quarterly meeting just prior to the flood fighting presentations. This presentation will give in depth insight on the latest flood fighting techniques with the goal of helping our communities prevent future flood losses.

Please share the Senator’s open invitation to this important event. We would like to see community residents, neighbors, students, public works personnel, emergency responders, or any other community member interested in being better prepared for a flood emergency.

The agenda is included for your convenience:

1:30pm – Welcome from Sen. Rezin & Introductions

1:45pm – Presentation from IDNR & Discussion

2:15pm – Presentation from USACE & Discussion

2:45pm – Open Discussion on any topics
