Flags lowered to half-staff in honor and remembrance of Lance Corporal Hancock

SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) worked with Governor Quinn’s office to arrange for the lowering of flags in the state to honor fallen Lance Corporal Steven M. Hancock.

All persons or entities covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act were ordered to lower to half-staff the United States and Illinois flags on Friday, May 30, 2014 in honor and remembrance of LCPL Hancock.  They will remain at half-staff until sunset.

“I felt that I should work with the Governor’s Office in regard to the passing of LCPL Hancock and request that we honor him by lowering the flags,” Sen. Rezin said.  “He served us all and we owe him our respect and gratitude.  This gesture does just that.”
