Springfield, IL – State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) issued the following statement in response to Gov. Bruce Rauner calling lawmakers back to Springfield for a 10-day special session from Wednesday, June 21st through the June 30th fiscal year deadline.
“I support Gov. Rauner calling lawmakers back to Springfield for a Special Session. Time is of the essence.
“My hope is during these 10 days, Democrats will return to the negotiating table and work with Republicans to achieve real compromise so we can pass a truly bi-partisan, balanced budget that moves Illinois forward. The deal must be good for education, social services, and taxpayers. I look forward to returning to Springfield and getting something real and balanced to the finish line.”
