State Senator Sue Rezin (R-Morris) released a statement following Governor J.B. Pritzker’s State Budget Address.
“The budget proposal laid out today represents a starting point, but now the real work begins. I remain optimistic that the Governor will hold true to his promise of working together in a bipartisan manner.
“While I recognize that the Governor’s plan solely provides the General Assembly with a framework, I am apprehensive of some of the ideas he has proposed. Most concerning to me is the potential for increased taxes. Our residents cannot afford Springfield taking more of their hard earned money.
“As we move forward drafting a budget, it is my hope we can come together and work in a bipartisan manner. Together, we have the opportunity to do what’s right for the people of this state.”
