Rezin Named Legislator of the Year by Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association

Illinois Senate Deputy Minority Leader Sue Rezin (R-Morris) has been named a Legislator of the Year by the Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association (IAPA), an organization representing Illinois’ asphalt pavement industry and the businesses that help build and maintain the state’s transportation infrastructure.

“I am grateful to the Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association for this recognition,” said Rezin. “The asphalt industry plays an important role in supporting jobs, strengthening our infrastructure, and keeping Illinois moving. I look forward to continuing to work with the IAPA and other stakeholders on policies that promote economic growth and long-term investment in our communities.”

The Legislator of the Year award recognizes lawmakers who have demonstrated leadership and support for policies that strengthen Illinois’ transportation system and infrastructure network.

“Senator Sue Rezin has been a steadfast advocate for Illinois’ transportation infrastructure and the policies that help keep our state moving forward. Her leadership and commitment to investing in safe, reliable roads and bridges have made a meaningful impact on communities across Illinois,” said Kevin Burke III, P.E., Executive Vice President, Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association. “We are proud to recognize Senator Rezin as the Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association’s 2026 Legislator of the Year for her dedication to supporting infrastructure investment, economic growth, and the thousands of men and women who work in the asphalt industry.”

Founded in 1938, the Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association is a nonprofit trade association representing Hot Mix Asphalt producers and affiliated companies throughout Illinois.
