Rezin, Roth to host ComEd Town Hall June 21

MORRIS, IL – State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) and State Rep. Pam Roth (R-Morris) will be hosting a ComEd Town Hall on Thursday, June 21 from 6:30-8:30 at Morris City Hall.

President and Chief Executive Officer of ComEd, Anne Pramaggiore, will speak about the upgrades ComEd has recently made under the Energy Infrastructure Modernization Act (EIMA).  The EIMA investment programs involve strengthening the existing power grid and then adding new, digital smart grid and smart meter technology that will transform the delivery of electricity to homes and businesses throughout northern Illinois.

The EIMA authorizes the implementation of a 10-year, $2.6 billion investment program that is estimated to create the more than 2,000 full-time equivalent jobs to help prepare Illinois to meet the growing energy demands of the 21st century, as well as attract companies that place a high priority on a modern electric infrastructure.

“When we passed the ComEd legislation last year, there were a lot of questions regarding its implementation,” Sen. Rezin said.  “We’re hoping that by hosting this town hall, people will be able to attend and get a lot of those questions answered and gain a better understanding of the grid modernization work underway and the benefits of smart grid technology.”

In addition to Ms. Pramaggiore, several ComEd experts will be in attendance to address the various components of the smart grid.
