$2 billion appropriation bill to be heard in committee today

The first vote in the Senate today was to waive all notice and posting requirements in order for House Bill 190 to be heard in the Senate Appropriations Committee this afternoon.  The vote passed on a bipartisan basis, with Republicans voting against.

This bill appropriates an additional $2.1 billion.  The vote that was taken to waive the notice and posting requirements does not allow for transparency in the legislative process.

House Bill 190 already passed the House yesterday, and will be heard in the Senate Appropriations Committee at 3:00 p.m. today.
