State Senator Sue Rezin (R-Morris) released the following statement in response to the Senate passing a gun control bill this evening:
“As an Illinois State Senator, I take the responsibility to protect all citizens seriously and believe we should work together to find solutions that help keep people safe without infringing upon our constitutional rights.
“However, I strongly believe that House Bill 5471 misses that mark. This proposal will create criminals out of law-abiding citizens instead of making the citizens of our state safer and does not take a wholesome approach to address gun violence.”
